Grandfather
I feel the salty tears, roll down my cheeks,
as i look upon your face,
for where once there was activness,
now you lay still,
where once there was joy in your eyes,
there is only an empty stare,
looking beyond what any living man can ever see,
where once there was warmth in your hugs,
now your skin has become cold as stone,
where once you were full of life,
now you are another empty vessal,
that used to hold the heart and soul of a great man,
i still have to you,
one last thing to say,
even on this greatly saddening day,
we loved you when you were full of life,
and grandpa,
we still love you,
that much and more,
even though your life has come to an end,
even though we are left with a great sore,
eventually,
through time,
that sore will mend,
but we will remember you,
forever,
and always,
and even though you are gone from us in body,
you are still held dear in our heart,
just as you used to be......
