Hand Paint in Black (for LNH)

I like to watch you paint-

Whirling wonder, lash the linen duck with the love I lack,

Lost in the strings of the song in our night-time hearts,

Hand paint in black.

Wishing it could be anything it ain’t,

I’ll stand against a thousand hours’ work at the back:

Modestly flawed to you, but masterpieces to me-

Hand paint in black.

We’re not bad, simply sinning saints.

Colours and words could run but one’s enough to make us crack

As I decide one day like this a year’d see me right.

Hand paint in black.

You’re perfection I’ll only taint

But the way you create a whole new world for me, such a knack-

I could watch you for a lifetime because my soul bares a handprint:

Hand paint in black.

I can truly appreciate your style in this...it has very random elements tied together with a theme that is both emotional and energizing, with a little 'snap' in inflection and tone that is vividly discernible to the mind's ear...Nice work!

Thank you so much Stefy, you're right, I'm bearing my soul both literally and literary-ly, but it's still quite simplistic. Thank you so much for stopping by to comment.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
