    Discouraging words can break even the most positive of people

    Heart-less

    Losing confidence in myself
    By all of the words that feel
    More like wounds to my soul-

    Positive thinking took over
    At first, but one letter was all
    It took by someone who hated
    Me-to discourage me and
    Make me lose all of
    The faith and determination
    In who I am-Lord what do you
    Do when everyone around is
    Always talking badly about you?

    To your face, they say such
    Discouraging things like,
    You will fail or You will
    Never make it! Feelings of doubt
    And depression are overwhelming
    And I just can’t take it! The higher
    Criticisms and Debaucheries of my
    Days tends to steal my joys, my
    Smiles away from me. Help is what
    I need to go on, just one word from
    You is what I need to continue
    My journey-Or else, I will faint
    Before I reach my destination….

    This is honesty at its best in poetic form, simplicity is the key to good writing and you've certainly done this here....I want you to read my poem Rise Above, it is my answer to those who would be so cruel. I wrote this sometime ago but I think it fits the situation you are describing .......Love and Freewill my friend.
