    Heart of Mine

    Heart of Mine

Heart of mine, I can feel your pain
It resonates through the walls of my veins
And I can feel the bellows of your woes
For it echoes through the halls of my soul
Heart of mine I can hear your cries
A leak has sprung in the wells of my eyes
And as I taste your falling tears
Your deafening cry implodes in my ear

But by the grace of God,
we’ll make it through these odds

Heart of mine you bent love’s bow
Then you were pierced by love’s arrow
Now hurt and forsaken as you shed tears of blood
Cause your aim missed its target, the bull’s eye of love
Heart of mine though love has left its scar
The wound will heal to become a badge of memoirs
For in the hurt there lies the peace
A haven of gratitude that will not cease

So know we will make it through these odds
    by the grace of God

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
