    heart of stone
    Please tell me, is it going to hurt
    When you tell me that this is all I am worth?
    I've been used and abused more times than a few
    Was it all worth it just to be close to you?
    Every lie you spoke I took as the truth
    You told me you loved me but showed me no proof
    Maybe I'm confused, and yes, I am alone
    But it takes more than a few lies to break a heart of stone

    I'm deeply touched. This poem epitomizes that pain that all of us most cope with every day. And for the rest who haven't this pain is inevitable. But it shows us a human. This suffering is why we are human. Very nice poem. I didn't rate this as not to tarnish the poetic beauty with a simple number.

    I guess a lot of us are in the same boat. broken hearts! but it brings out a lot of emotions and writing them down has helped me a lot. good stuff!

    It sounds like you and I could write a book. I like the line - You told me you loved me but showed me no proof - if people paid more attention to the words falling out of their mouths, I wonder what they'd say.
