I want to focus the spotlight on some great people that I do call friends of mine,

Their exceptional virtue proves them worthy as the best candidates for Shine.

 Andy Warhol envisioned them when he spoke on the fifteen minutes of fame,

They deserve it; a better person I am for they’ve added value to my life since they came.

The power and the gift to change the world one person at a time, they surely do possess,

For their hearts are full of love and warmth and to anyone, they gladly give access.

A long hand of friendship they’ll always extend towards you, no matter who you are,

Having no walls or lines to divide, their love reaches you no matter where or how far.

Scattered across the face of the earth like a mirrored replica of stars in the night sky,

It is them you see up there that glow brighter and I will tell you the reasons why.

Some have hearts so courageous that even in the face of death, they’ll remain bold,

Others have hearts equipped with the arms of compassion to shelter you from the cold.

So many don’t have the heart to watch injustice thrive while their arms just stay fold,

A lot of my pals have hearts that’ll walk with you through life and your hand they’ll hold.

The hearts of some know that age ain’t nothing but a number, be it you’re young or old,

Others have hearts that want poor children to smile, for this, their possessions they sold. 

Some have hearts with great words that’ll write the greatest poems and stories ever told,

All these people are my friends and I stand uncorrected to say they have Hearts of Gold.

Being in their company always feels like one is surely at peace or in a happy feast,

I thank God for making and allowing these ‘Angels’ to still dwell within our midst.

The world is a better place because of these agents of love and the people they change,

A toast to my friends, the good and true, to you all I dedicate every word on this page.
