    Her Memory

Her memory dances all around me….

Like a butterfly floating on air…

I think of her and what used to be…

Days that were warm and fair…

How we came to be as one…

    The laughter that we shared…

Her voice as warm as the sun…

Words that told me she cared…

She is never far from me…

She was always by my side…

And in her smile I could see…

    Emotions running like the tide…

My love for her will never fade…

Like the roses that were given…

    This my heart has forbade…

And in this memory I now live in…

A tear rolls slowly down my face…

As she settles into my dreams…

And this sadness I reluctantly embrace…

I am chained to this memory it seems…

The night rolls slowly across the sky…

    My body trembles with fear…

I am afraid to close my eyes…

For when they open she won’t be here…

The sun will rise with the dawn…

And another day I will meet…

Again I will realize that she is gone…

Then her memory I will greet…

Like a flood her memory engulfs me…

    And I feel I am sinking deep…

For my heart no other will see…

I have given her mine to keep…

true love lives even when one dies.... you have passion in your words... that spells you.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
