High Stakes

Does it ever cross your mind that you're just being used?
Your choices, your freedom, your dignity - abused?
Stuck in your cage, attractive though it may seem
What happened to your fire, where are your dreams?
The same old shackles that are fiends to us all
Will not be the successors in making me fall
Yes, the track I'm on has been walked before
But the directions I turn are my choice, not yours.
Good luck if you try, you're wasting your time -
My dreams and my freedom will always be mine.
