    HIS TEARS

HE WAS EVERYTHING SHE THOUGHT SHE'D NEED
YET SHE GAVE HIM UP SO EASILY
HE WAS THE ONE THAT PICKED HER UP
WHEN SHE WAS STRANDED ALL ALONE
WHEN NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE
TO GUIDE HER AND SHOW HER THE WAY HOME
    HIS FACE IS CRYSTAL CLEAR
    EMBEDDED IN HER MIND
HE MADE A POINT TO SHOW HER
A BRAND NEW WAY OF LIFE
ONE THAT DIDN'T CONSIST OF BEING CHAINED
    TO HIS VERY SIDE.
HE HAD A PASSION FOR LIFE AND THE LITTLE THINGS
HE HAD DREAMS OF MAKING IT BIG AND RAISING A FAMILY
SHE TRIED AND TRIED TO LOVE HIM
    FOR EVERYTHING HE DID
FOR SOME REASON SHE KNEW SHE WOULD NEVER BE HIS
THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING MISSING IN HER EYES
HE COULD TELL WHETHER IT WAS DAY OR NIGHT
HE WANTED SO BAD TO MAKE IT FOREVER
BUT HE KNEW IN HIS HEART THAT IT WOULD SIMPLY BE NEVER
THE WORLD HE COULD GIVE HER IF SHE'D JUST REALIZE
BUT SHE WAS ALWAYS TOO BUSY BEING HEART BROKEN
    OVER SOME OTHER GUY.
SHE APOLOGIZED FOR TAKING UP HIS TIME
QUICKLY AND QUIETLY SHE REMOVED HIM FROM HER LIFE
FOR NOW SHE IS HAPPY, CONTENT WITH HER LIFE
    LITTLE DOES SHE KNOW
SHE IS THE REASON FOR HIS TEARS AT NIGHT.

What a twisted pair they were! A view from her to end with him. A tricky poem twisting wore than a mind! Nice Job!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
