Hopelessness

Hopelessness

I am exhausted from the tears

That stream my face.

I just can’t seem to find

My happy place.

All my dreams; in an instant,

Gone without a trace.

Years of effort and hope,

Become useless waste.

Sometimes I wish the Reaper

Would pick up the pace.

Release my life’s energy

So I no longer take up space.

And when I’m gone, pass the wine.

For I don’t even deserve a taste.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
