    Horror of the Night

Go ahead and rest your eyes,
Lay your head down and sleep.
For tomorrow you shall not awake,
For the horror that has to take place.

Go ahead and rest your eyes,
Lay your head down and sleep.
    For forever more
    Shall you be sound.

    No more crying,
    No more pain,
    No more laughter,
    And no more gain.

So go ahead and rest your eyes,
Lay your head down in sleep.
For tomorrow you shall not awake,
From the horror that just took place.

resting in peace. love this dark poetry. very good write

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
