Houldridge Lullaby

These crimson scars still remain
As reminders of the pain
Of the love that was cast away
Concealed from the light of day

Tears swelling no longer shed
Amongst the hand that caused you dread
Hope is powerless without proof
Ripping through the tainted truth

Down the path you must walk on
With every passing of the Sun
Never bearing the words unkind
Buried in the subconcious mind

Memories told and memories lost
This path again will never cross
Hidden tears within the soul
Bleeding still longing to be whole

Lesson learned and lesson told
A stronger mind to now behold
You had to pay the morbid price
Of being a scapegoat sacrifice

And so, the passing days begin
Another tear held because of sin
He will never remember why
You sang this Houldridge Lullaby
