    • Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

    Hush My Little One

Hush my little one don’t cry I know that you don’t understand
What is happening around you is not in the Red Mans hand

The blood of his forefathers running through his veins
Poured out upon this land by the white mans reins

Your fathers gone to fight to defend our people and land
Riding into battle with pride against the enemy he will stand

A battle long remembered the night filled with much crying
Our lives have been shortened our people are dying

This I say to you my son for your life I now fear
Before your life time's done may be less Red Man here

My little one, take your rest close your eyes in peaceful slumber
Pray the day will soon come our people will increase in number

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
