hush

hush

If you should ever leave-

Suddenly set sail and quietly vanish on the horizon,

Or

Slowly, silently fade away like the tides-

I’d mourn the loss of you quietly,

Softly banishing you to a silent watery

Grave in the hushed recesses of my memory.

If you should ever drown your love for me,

And, silent, slip under the waves,

I’d quietly walk along the sands and maybe

Reminisce, but most likely not, silently watching

The hushed shells of blue-grey and brown quietly

Burrow into the wet beach, silently

Breathing salted air.
