I am a ghost…

I am a ghost…

I don’t remember when I died
or where or how
But I know I used to be alive.
This used to be my life.
I was here.

No one sees me now
or hears me cry.
Life goes on for the living
and sometimes I watch.

It’s like standing close to a carousel
A merry-go-round of life and laughter
Music plays, lights flash,
People I love go spinning past me

I try to jump on, grab as it goes by,
but I have no arms.
So there I stand.
I feel the breeze, hear the fun,
but it is not for me.

Sometimes I float away…
