    • I've been gone for quit some time but I'm back and ready to write more poetry.

    Poem Commentary

    I wrote this for people who have been sexually assulted so they know they can take a stand!

    I Am A Surviver

     Just who the hell do you
       Think you are
    Going around and taking
      Whatever you want
    From all the young girls
      Who come your way.

    I'm very angery umm and disapointed
       My baby girl thought
    Thought that she could trust you
      But look at what trust got her
    I don't know if my baby can or will
       Ever trust again.

    The torn dress, and shattred look
       Is more then most can bare
    But i'm going to hold my head uo high,
       I won't let you win
    Because I am a surviver, I am a fighter
      I don't fall that easy
    I will beat you with my wit and
      My words alone.
    Because I am a surviver, I am a fighter
      IK'm stronger then most think
    Because I am a surviver, I am a fighter
      And I will I will I will win.

    You took something from me that was never yours
      To take in the first place
    I was weak weaker then I'd ever been to weak to fight
      But day by day I gained the stregth
    I needed to keep carrying on day by day.
       I took a deep deep breath
    I took a stand and shouted out to the world
      I won't let you win!

    The torn dress, and the shattred look

    But i'm going to hold my head up high,
      I won't let you win
    Because I am a surviver, I am a fighter
      I don't fall that easy

    Strong emotion in the poem. Sounds very traumatic. I don't mean to nitpick, but since Survivor is the title and oft-repeating theme, I would edit the poem and spell it correctly. Especially if you plan on publishing it in a poetry collection.
