I Am Fear

I Am Fear

Creeping through my mess

I have settled for nothing near my best

Fearful of the struggles faced to gain

I live this grief with me to blame

Hesitant at each step

I hinder my hope for progress

I'm living with no control of my fear nor my flesh

Sporadic with my change

I move unconsciously with little to no aim

Exuberant and focused on my tasks of ease

I fool myself to believe I am progressing through life like a breeze

Complicated irony of life I am caught in your web

Gasping for air to endure what's ahead

I eagerly roam like a rodent

Survival techniques always what's important

Always with my guard raised

I live a life shortening each of my days

Blinded by so much of reality

I reach to understand

Afraid to even take a stand

I am….fear

This reminds me of me as a teenager. Maybe it's in all teenagers. Great job!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
