I Am My Own

  • Well, here goes nothing. Really. I'm not doing anything.

I Am My Own

You ask a question, I object, you explain to your effect.
So I'm convinced that you are right, and agree to your delight.
I hate the fact that this I do, I wish I could say no to you!
I can't object; I seek to please, but this comes with no good ease.
I change my answers, just a tad, just so I won't make you mad.
I wish to stop my foolish ways, but now my life's a tangled maze.
For now you'll know the seed I've sown; from here on out, I am my own.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
