I Can't Do It Again

I Can't Do It Again

A broken girl,
Twisted and hopeless on a car seat.
No-one ever told her this life was not the one -
Dreaming away the daytime into her darkness and her fun.
Finding consolation in other peoples prose,
Managing to see nothing but destruction in her own.
And you never told me that it couldnt be this way -
You never even showed me this was not the place I'd stay.
A twisted girl lies broken on a back seat
No-where left to run, and i'll finally admit defeat.

Dear Bambi, this poem really touched my heart...I felt the hopelessness in this poem and the despair...very simple, but, powerful,,,thank you for sharing,,,tonid

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
