I Don't Know Who To Trust

I don't know who to trust

engulfed in a love, empassioned with lust

to see her I yearn, her company a must.

how clearly engrossed in a being who has hurt me so much

that I can no longer relinquish my trust.

Amiss are the days of ignorant bliss

afloat on the feelings sprang up from a trist

    they grew into more

    grew into A'more

who new love would leave me like this

pain drowns with a kiss, a moment content

then memory forgets, slips back into bliss

I yearn to forget, yet unfailing it hits

as memories flood in and leave me endrenched

and thoughts of elation revert to resent

her loyalties left and my trust has been spent

how dearly I yearn to forget.....I really don't know who to trust

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
