I Feel It In the Air

I Feel It In the Air

Time, a moment in an eternity

When a day can seem to last forever

And you can almost believe

That your time will not be, not ever

You ask It, when will it end?

When will our time begin?

But slowly the seconds pass

Turning themselves into minutes

Turning into hours and days

Until the tension begins to rest

And I count what’s left

I can feel Christmas in the air…

And now, at last the time has come

When the joy seems to shine around us

The carols played, the songs sung

Now we’ll be able to shine through love

And everything is getting better

As our day is getting closer

The cold seems to warm my heart

When I find myself praying for snow

Very soon, now, Forever will start

And everything will be easier, I know

For I’ve seen it happen before

And so much more

I can feel Christmas in the air…

I’ve been away for far too long

Some days, it seemed to take forever

Some days, it just wasn’t enough

But soon, baby, we’ll be together

We’ll never have to worry again

Loneliness’ fight shall end

The Time has come at last

Our Time can now shine its light

No more living in the past

When my world is painted so bright

With the your love that’s everywhere

When Christmas is in the air…

I can feel Christmas in the air…

Let me tell you what I think at this moment is so brutally cool about this write; that Im reading this way past Christmas- so here it is a Christmas poem- being read late Jan- and know what?- that makes this write intense.. Imagine reading this, say in July... Christmas just being a metephore, symbolic, of receiving a true gift.. the gift of lonliness being obsolete- reuniting with the one you long for- Christmas being in the air, everytime you connect- or dream of connecting... that's brilliant, this poem is so passionate! Great write!! Maddi

Very nice write. The holidays can give us a chance to take a breather from the everyday life, and reunite with those we care about, including ourselves. Nicely done.

This was beautiful baby, and brought a sappy tear to my eye as I read it once again :) No more living in the past for us, for those who live in the past have no future. But alas, we have a future, and the future is wide open, and it begins soon. Just some 9 odd days until our forever. This is going to be the best Christmas of my life, and I cannot wait! I love you *Kiss. Love, Spence

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
