    I Gave You

I gave you a smile, You gave me a frown.
I gave you my hand, you turned around.
I gave you the time, You didn't give a day.
I gave you the day, You didn't give me the time.
I gave you my heart, You threw it on the groung and stomped on it, then gave it back except the peice that was left on the bottom of your shoe.
I began to cry, You began to laugh.
I thought you were everything I could ever dream of. but I finally woke up.

You may have been young, but youth usually deals in the harshest truth, truth hurtled well at the subject of this piece. Great write!

I have sadly remember a moment in my life, when I gave a frown following a smile I received and her expression forever etched. I learned the power of a frown, and not to give them at all. Thank you for a gentle reminder.
