    Poem Commentary

    Having been alone so long, I sometimes do not know what to say to those who would like to get to know me better. It sometimes leaves me speechless and like stone.  Telling them what they want to hear or what they need to know.

    I Know The Word

    I Know The Word: Drew Lancaster

    I know the word, Lonely
    See that you do too
    I usely don't expose me
    Fear to my lonely seat
    More often keeps me glued

    I know the word, Lonely
    6 letters to make me sigh
    But I know the word, Friend
    6 letters that most often makes better
    Gives hope of a place to begin

    I know the word, Family
    Father mother sister brother
    They say it should come first
    Though they saw to abandon me
    Call me a son or brother of no worth

    So I know the word, Lonely
    Sadly because family and friend
    That is a little of a story
    Sad in the beginning
    With a fairy tale twist for the end

    I know you don't know me
    True I don't know you
    I have forgotten how to start
    Maybe if you show me
    Maybe I'll show you too
