I may get the chance, but I'll never get the dance

I may get the chance, but I'll never get the dance

If I only knew
If you are true
You say you care for me
But how can it be
When your are there
You are not here
I can't help but wonder why
Should I even try
My heart in pieces, it begins to fall
I slowly put up my wall
Wanting to let you inside
But I slowly push you aside
So afraid you'll walk away
So much to say
But the words I cannot find
You seem too good to be true, simply one of a kind
Your every word, I hear
But still I can't help but fear
You'll want to leave, that you were wrong
To another, you'll want to belong
I may get the chance
But I'll never get the dance
In the end
I don't even get a friend
I just want to belong
But fear what I long
I want someone to hold me tight
Making the same wish each night
For fate to answere my call
Letting me tare down my wall
Reaching for a hand
Wanting someone just to understand
To be swept off my feet
My prince to meet
My dreams are broken in the end
Alone I sit, with not even a friend
No one seems to see
"Dream come true", doesn't happen for me
Needing help from above
Longing to find true love
just needing a chance
Hopes for romance
But it doesn't seem to be around
Walking, facing the ground
No one seems to care
Why should I share
Getting pushe aside
Afraid to let anyone inside
Tired of picking up the pieces of my heart
Unloved, unwanted from the start
Ready to give up, doesn't seem worth the try
In the end, I always cry
So tired of the game
Tired of the shame
True love, doesn't exsist anymore
Everyone shut the door
I'm left outside
No one to stand by my side
My dreams are broken in the end
Alone I sit, with not even a friend
No one seems to see
"Dream come true", doesn't happen for me
I simply may get the chance
But I never get the dance

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
