I sent myself a friend request

I sent myself a friend request
    I answered right away
I thought I knew the guy somewhere
He must have something to say

I searched and searched my new friends profile
I want to know him better
He was also new to this domain
    As I was well aware

There was no picture of my friend
    But that’s alright with me
I know him as a handsome chap
    His words made that complete

I felt he was an honest type
    An impression not confirmed
He spoke a little southern like
His words flowed like a song

His bio was a little weak
    He really didn’t say
    The intentions of his membership
    Imagine his life’s story

I sent myself a friend request
Heck, I knew it all along
I must be looking for myself
To phrase a poem or song

I sent myself a friend request
    The inbox is still empty
Waiting for my new friends words
    Nothing new to say

As I shutdown this dreadful toy
    I wonder at it all
The longing for a simple word
    Companionship electronic

I sent myself a friend request
    So wonder where it went
    Response was never made again
    To me, myself, or I

I enjoyed reading "I Sent A Letter To Myself, Greatt reaf!!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
