    If Lily had a backbone

    lash lash in a flash,
    there’s a gash
    the size of Texas
    and you can bet this
    it ain’t the end miss

you should go, leave, not stay
    get far away, deep breathe
    and you’d be braver
    say see ya later

but you stay, you’re not free,
put down your guard, give in, concede

then lash lash, in a flash,
    another gash
and whadaya do? just stew and brew
don’t let the words get into you
you silly fool, it’s cruel, not you.

treats you like dirt, it hurts,
not worth the work, and yet you stay
    don’t play, you pay
with every single word you say

    break all those ties,
    out all the lies,
    scream all the sighs,
    end all the bullshit
    hell, you tried.

I don't know why so many young lovers get lost in the quest for life. Is it because they don't give enough of themselves to lay a strong foundation to build their castle of dreams or is it because they take more than they give. If you feel that what you give is what you get and you really believe that to be true then you should give all that you’ve got and then some. If you want the great rewards life has to offer then bond your relationship with the strongest adhesive. Treat love like you would a rose garden, use the most fertile soil, cultivate and nurture it and water it with sweat and tears. I started to write you compliment for your poetic arrangement of words but the writer in me took control of my keyboard and when that happens all I can do is let the words flow. My fingers took over and printed out more than I intended to give and my comment turned into a synopsis for your talented poetic endeavor. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. LOL, BDC

Very rappish, in its style to me. Written from the heart, very raw and red still. I wonder has he ever cried?

All of your poetry feels really experimental to me, like you just love playing with the words, whether it works or not. Also, this is a great poem. I think the flow could be tweaked *a little*, but other than that, it rocks.

I love the jumping in this poem

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
