If You

If You

If You

If you watch the people in your life
with a magnifying glass
how much of their time would be useless gas;
precious to them
but inexplicable to others,
granted that molecules permeate most
that otherwise smothers.

If you watch yourself with a telescope
how easily would you cope
if you knew your poetry
sucked? And, for it, there was no hope!

What would you do if the lenses bore into you,
revealing the one beyond the skin and bone;
separate from house and home:
who are you,
what do you do,
how will the world define you?

It's not a quiz or spelling test;
it's not a race,
or something to get off one's chest;
it's a question of metaphysics,
most profound
and not really necessary to be answered
by word or sound.
But it will be answered
in your story
each of you
in your glory;
all abound, all abound

I hear a very old theme here, revamped by an innovative writer and I love it very much.

you can tell the work from a good poet at a glance, that's what i saw when i oopen this piece. i like thge use of imagery and rhetorical questions, they help to create a cliff hanger effect which i think life itself puts us all. good thematic content too, it prods us all to reflect and think deeply and at tghe same time be objective. it is like the proverbial "thge log in your eye" while you're trying to remove the speck in others eyes. the only "if" i see is that the poem lacks a randomn rhythm. this gives a taste of the avant garde to it though. good job. keep it up

I like the imagery portrayed and the message within. You manage to maintain a level of interest throughout the entire poem. The flaws can be corrected in due time! Great Job! I like the picture! ;)

Spaciba - "thank you", in Russian. Yeah. Somehow the pic came through. Not my best, but I look serious. Which is nice.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
