    I'm letting go

For the longest time I held u in my heart
Hoping that we would not stay apart
However, I was stupid to think such a silly thing
Because I was just a fling to you
Something you could say u had just to have it
I never said a thing until in my dream
I remember staying up late and just talking
Or pouring my heart and sole out to you
What was I, just a fool?
I sometimes wonder if you really thought about me the way you said you did
Or if I was hoping, it was true
You reminded me of why I do not like guys of your type
Because you took my heart and broke it
And you thought it was all a joke
You know I loved you so
I do not know why you had to go
    There was never a reason
We said we would be friends but that will not help my heart mend
I have spent too much of my time on you
Yes, you heard it its true.
I am giving up on you
I want you to know I am letting you go

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
