    Imagination SOS

    diaphanous dreams cling to

    the edges of sleep,

    natural and impossible

secret notes from our base selves

    hidden in the rogue disguise

    of altered memories

    and manufactured adventures

Short and sweet. I love it. Full of thought and questions. An imagination is something that God has blessed mankind with. Without it life would be very mundane. I'm not sure any other species has the imaginative capabilities that we, as humans, do. If so, I'm sure it's not easily identifiable or understood. Sometimes I can tell my dog is dreaming, of what I have now way to tell. Very thought provoking. Read my poem Re-curring Nightmare if you get a chance. Very different, but along the same lines. Thanks for sharing...K.

Thank you so much, Troy! Having my daughter start school for the first time brought about all kinds of unusual dreams and this was the result of trying to make sense of it all, lol!

Now, this is a poem I can sink my teeth into, right down my alley. Dreams, waking sleep experiences (hypnagogia) is merging with the fabric of the universe and becoming one with it. Love, peace and freedom, Olan

'divining truths and providing escape' is the perfect way to describe exactly what I was trying to accomplish here! You nailed it, Sam! Thank you so much for not only reading my work but showing such a deep understanding of every piece I post. It's comments like yours that give me the courage to post more.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
