Poem Commentary

Live like there is no tomorrow.

Impact

Where is the clock upon impact?
With a flash before your eyes.
When the "God of Yesterday"
puts truth before the lies.

A silence as the second stalls.
And then there comes the sound.
Squealing tires and breaking glass.
But it's to late to turn around.

To late to turn around your life.
Once the silence breaks.
All that's good is set in stone.
But, so are the mistakes.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
