IN MEMORY OF THE ADVENT OF DUSK

                                                       Time ends as
                                                                  a leafless tree:
                                                                     The lake is dried.

                                                        The hungry beast is wild
                                                                an endless dark
                                                                      and starless night.

                                                         Starvation comes
                                                                like a hungry wolf
                                                                     gnashing, moaning
                                                                          crying, craving, shouting.

                                                         This would be the end,
                                                                   Let's kneel and pray.

                                                                                          by Jearna Emerson
