In My Back Pocket

In My Back Pocket

In my back pocket, I hold tight some things,
things that are special to my heart.
I have a little moon light, a flower from a field,
and these things are only the start.
In my back pocket, I leave a little space,
for the one thing I hold so very dear.
A memory of someone, who brought light from dark.
Someone I will keep very near.
In my back pocket is where I will reach,
when life gets me tied up and low.
I'll reach for you there, with memory in hand,
to places no others can go.

How precious! I love this. It says so much. Memories held dear, keep them somewhere close. A ten from me.

You're sweet... Thank you

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
