    In My Dreams

Her voice is now a faint memory.
A once crystal clear image of her
Is something I can no longer see.
In her short time here she taught me
That I could please God by just being me.
Had I known then that our time would be cut short
I would have held on to her every word.
In her little time here on Earth she had discovered
What some take a lifetime to find.
She new that the only things that mattered were
Who you touched during your given time.
Her love was endless just like the sea.
She taught me everything she thought I'd need.
As if God sent her to show me the way
Then he took his Angel back to Heaven one rainy day in May.
When she left my world turned to black.
At five years old I was forced to find a new path.
Not one where my sister and I walked hand in hand,
    Side by Side.
But one where she only existed in my dream at night.

Sweet, and touching. Tells a story lightly yet with great sadness. Good work.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
