In the mist of my eyes

In the mist of my eyes

Please open your eyes

All I wanted was to walk with you

Through the shadows of your heart

And remember all the good times we multiplied together

But at this moment

I couldn’t memorize why I love you

Because I may be to late and the way I feel towards you is hate

I felt like I was walking between narrow walls

Where air or light just don’t blow

Your blood line seems to be so cold

And life support is taking what I say as if you didn’t know

Your heart is in a race

And all I can hear while the doctors and nurses pushing me out the way

Is a sad melody tone of Amazing Grace

But why would you tell me that you want to always be with me

When your tired heart no longer beats

Tears began to form my eyes

Because of the love I just lost in the mist of my eyes

I can’t take the pressure any more

I want to believe this is a dream

But I know that everything that happens is already written on a screen

I’m here rocking back and forth by your side

Hoping they redeem you so I won’t have to say goodbye

But my love life came to an end

Once they covered your body with a thin whit sheet

All I can remember my body doing is falling to sleep

But in the mist of my eyes

Our love, friendship, and your life will never die

You do not want me rating your poems. I am an old guy, and I think poems should have rhyme and rhythm. They should have a pattern and a cadence. You do not adhere to those disciplines. My ratings would always be lower than you may deserve. Chuck

Emotional write and very talented as well. The loss and the promise that the memories will keep them alive. Excellent piece.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
