    in a brilliant patch of green
    where the sky touches the ground
    and the world is at peace


    in the shadow of a mountain
    where the air is easy to breathe
    near a path of graveled rocks
    the landscape is serene


    in the shadow of a mountain
    where the birds always sing
    time moves a little slower
    and  forever can be seen

    in the shadow of a mountain
    is where he rests in peace
    flags wave with pride
    in a gentle blowing breeze


    in the shadow of a mountain
    in the mesa view cemetery
    his name is carved in granite
    for all eternity

    I love your poetry! This one seems to be a heartfelt, gentle wish. I feel the peace, smell the fresh air, and see the mountain.

    thank you for commenting... this peice was written for my grandfather who is buried at the base of the mesa in delta colorado... the most beautiful place in i have ever seen...

    Cool poem...I can relate to this for I do have some relatives that are resting in a cemetery that sits at the base of a mountain....great job!
