    Innocence Departed

     

    Unwanted caress, press against the chest

    No haven for rest, lifes’ angry mess

    You must never confess

     

    Simple fuss, feelings of mistrust

    Wanted his love, not his lust, so unjust

     

    Shattered a girls simple world

    Why did you go where I said no

    Innocence departed and unfurled

     

    Never safe again, the lies you would spin

    The protector is no friend, how can you win

     

    It turned into a hated brew

    Days of happiness became few

    To all who knew, it was untrue

     

    Tears fell along twisted spells

    Always walking on eggshells

    Without grace, both now dwell

     

    Hard lesson for a girl to learn

    The bearer of the shame that burns

    The heart and soul will always yearn

    For validation of misplaced attraction spurned

    I am sorry that you had to go through such an awful experience,but hope and pray that by sharing your story it will offer a measure of relief and comfort to you.This is a very powerful and well written poem.

    This is such a powerful piece, filled with inner strength and insight. I've always felt that one who is infected with weakness, will try to pass it on to another, in order to remove it from themselves. Never allow the weakness of another to infect you no matter how hard they try to pass it on. Your strength can only be taken from you, by yourself. 10 from me

    One who is innocent should never become discouraged or shamed by anothers actions. Innocence lost is so very true when unwanted affection becomes so grim.
