Insensitivity

Insensitivity

You plunged a dagger into my heart

Twisting as it entered

Bleeding my soul from the moments we shared

Killing a friendship that appeared real to me

Shoving me away so fast and fiercely

To close I had come to you

To touch your inner feelings

To close I had come

So to kill me was all you knew to do

You kicked me and beat me with words hurtful

To try and knock me down

You have defeated me with your dagger

I hope you are feeling proud

You knew I had listened to you as a guiding piece

But still independence within me remained

You could not control me as if you wanted too

And this was driving you insane

So a dagger to my heart to bleed my soul

A friendship never too remain

I know how that feels all to well. It was a lovely write it brought back many feelings I have had.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
