    INTELLECTUALIZATION

In the heart of my mind
    I sit and think peacefully
and concentrate on what is the here and now
at the same time not worrying about the morrow
by keeping my focus on an immediate environment
thus enabling me to live for today
for when I lose sight of it all
I will begin to wither away and begone
The fact of the matter is I try too hard
that is when the time and space fluctuates
causing me to lose all train of thought
which disallows me a continuance of balance
My inner world is disrupted by its own flaws
cracking the foundations of its true self
as it collapses the walls of hope and truth
deteriorating the full meaning of mine life
To wit a single breath brings me to
giving me permission to live once again
keeping in mind the obstacles that are before me
while rebuilding the footings at the core
In my heart there is but one chance to fulfill the dream
trying to carry on without making more errors
What confounds me are the impossibilities that may erupt
while trying to remain positive through the end of it all
I know what it is that I must do to go on
without concerning myself with the things that aren't important
by conditioning my mind to those which are meaningful
and to stay in touch with the love that surrounds my being.

ty, ladyd37 for your comment. I wrote that poem in 2001. thanks again

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
