Poem Commentary

I pray that you will find your way into his loving arms. God Bless Randy

Into His Loving Arms

In our church
We have a cross that appears
To represent the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
He died to save
We the human race said
Crucify him! Crucify him! Crucify him!
When we should have said
Holy Holy Holy!!!!
Here is our King! Here is our King!  Here is our King!
And we the human race who did this………..
Were given a precious gift that day on the cross………..
With his arms spread wide nailed to each end of the cross
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.   Luke 23:34 NIV
The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him.  They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”  Luke 23:35 NIV

Instead of saving himself from the pain and suffering……
He chose instead to save you……… Yes you the person reading this now!
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." Luke 23:46 NIV
Now the choice is yours will you commit your spirit into the loving arms of Christ Who’s Arms are stretched out wide just like that day on the cross waiting to embrace and forgive you????????????

Praise be to God for a messenger willing to spread His word. This poem is beautiful and so true. God in his death saved us, even though it was humanity who wanted Him dead.

I can't imagine where we would be if God had not loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for our sins. And all He asks is that we love one another as He loves us. What a powerful, powerful piece...a true testimony.

I am afraid that we would have ran out of sacrificial animals by now. The veil would not have been torn and we would not have the direct fellowship with God. We would not have the gift of the Holy Spirit that has been given to us by Christ our Savior to guide us. Without the hope and love that we have been given from Christ we would be lost and required to pay the penalty of our sins. Praise be to Christ Holy Holy Holy God Bless Randy

I love the title Into His loving Arms, I think it is very ironic or symbolic. The words "crucify", "holy", and "here is our king" used 3 times are so powerful, can I say trinity. The choice of words repeated three times also communicate anger/frustration, perhaps at those who sneered and should have said holy. Interesting choice to point out that the human race made great mistakes in the sacrifice of our king, yet invite them into out strecthed open arms. It is the judgement of those who should have said holy, those who sneered, those who should be forgiven that is so ironic with the words waiting to embrace and forgive. Great piece, may you openly welcome all into your loving arms. May you find peace and comfort on your journey.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
