Where has the music gone?
this is the question I ask of you
you said the music would always be there, so try not to despair
anticipating and hoping it will come back
for what else can I do?

Some time ago, the music was real. flowing with emotion and
words that had meaning you could feel
now it all seems so empty, so stale, words without meaning
and melodies that fail

I want something new, music that makes me come alive
not just some metal and angry noise and all that other screaming jive
some day it will come back
with four-four time, real instruments and singers that are just so fine. like the music was
in another place, another time

I miss the time when music took you away to a place you'd never been
where nothing else mattered
just the music and the song
like a missed, old friend

You said don't worry, don't feel bad, just close your eyes and remember the great music that we once had
all the while knowing
that just missing the music
is what makes me so sad.......
