    Sisterhood...

    Is your heart in it now

     Women today we must began to take more responsibilty 
    for our actions toward each other .
    If I talk bad about you , really i'm talking bad about
    myself.
    If I talk bad about your mother , then I'm speaking bad
    about my mother.
    If I talk about you behind your back to my man,
    Then I'm saying I'm insecure.
    If I allow a man to disrespect you , then
    I allow myself , to be disrespected.
    If I stand back and watch you victimized 
    Yet I say nothing , I am not being
    a loving caring woman.
    The mere fact that a woman can allow society
    to depict what is correct for a woman is senseless.
    Birds of a feather , don't always flock together ,
    The bible says "don't judge a book by it's cover.
    We know not what God's intentions are completely.
    We show that we have no faith , when we try to exscape
    his chastizing. When we place ourselves above
    another we slander the work of the creator ,
    dust is dust ...
    what's good for the goose is good for the gander, 
    well , these days people point out each other's flaws 
    sin , not in a loving way , but out of spite ,
    out of disrespect for a person ... 
    we are imperfect , but imperfection doesn't 
    stop us from learning and doing better.
    also , we put more energy into dirtying up 
    a person's character , than to find out what 
    made the person act out so .. or to try to 
    bring the person into the word... 
    When you look back over the relationships you've cultivated 
    with women , what did you teach them? , what did you 
    share with them ?, what did you learn from them ?
    what do you miss about them?
    what do you love about them ?
    what would you tell them if you had the chance today?
    Life is a precious gift , of which many of us know we don't deserve , yet we have been given the gift of life .. How we chose to share it , spend it , enjoy it ... Is diverse...
    We should see each other as a mother , grandmother , sister, aunt , daughter, niece , cousin, etc ... 
    If you can't stand to do harm to yourself or your family 
    you shouldn't have the heart to harm me or my family ...

    Everybody should be reading your poetry. I think they would learn alot. Compassion is so important and we have to watch each other's backs. The mindset of society is so screwed up. I am not always this positive either, unfortunately, but I really admire people that *can* stay positive. Your poetry kind of reminds me of Maya Angelou. I am not sure why but it is definately there.
