It's Hard...

Poem Commentary

The most special poem I ever wrote

It's Hard...

It's hard to decipher
Whether you're loving me
Or letting me go.

I'm afraid to ask
So I'll just leave.
I guess I'll never know.

But I'll always remember
The times we had
And the gifts you willingly gave.

The smiles and laughs
The tears of joy
The relief from the stress of my days.

It's hard to decide
Whether I want to make this move
And leave the one I love

I'm afraid to disobey
The whispers of God
So I must follow His footsteps above.

I'll miss that forever feeling
That love would always last
That we would always have each other

It hurts to let go when one's pulling away
But it's so much harder
When we're holding on to one another.

It's hard to give you up.
It's like an addiction,
The happiness you gave.

I can only hope
I'll meet someone as great as you
In my future days.

This tormenting game of emotional chess
Is making me vulnerable.
I'm too exposed.

There's only one way to make this easier,
We must look at each other
And willingly let go.

It's hard to watch you watch me
Leaving you for this last time.
Watching the pain spread across your face

In another lifetime
We'll be meant to be
And be much happier in a better place

Until then, we can hold on
To the memories of our past
But letting go is the obstacle we must face

thank you so much, but i REALLY LOVE YOUR POEM! it brought back so many emotions that i had buried away then they just spilled out into this poem. so i owe u a thank u lol

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
