    IT'S LOVE (c) Copyright 2011

Clearly I had shut the door
My last cry, there'd be no more
    Attempts at love staunchly ignored
    Through with heartache, I ensured

Like cracking a walnut to reach its core
No one or nothing could enter this door
Without risking a break, and me in pieces
I longed for the day my anguish ceases

Yet somehow my barriers left me deceived
Though I scarce know the moment love was conceived

Love has a way of breaking down walls
Seeping through crevices, paying the cost
Lighting the way, when all hope is lost

How did this happen, this act of treason
My heart knows no limits now, my soul no reason
    Left speechless, helpless, passion bespoken
My last line of defense is broken
    It's love...

This brings to mind a great new tune I keep hearing: "...a moment changes everything" Nice and congrats on your new love!

Pat yourself on the back, md; because I think that gives your work a much broader appeal. Clap Clap Clap :)

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
