You are such a great poet... I am truly envious of your wisdom and style. This is wonderful, and your descriptions, once again, have blown me away. What a great write. Thank you for sharing.

awww, what great compliments this morning, you're such a great surprise ... this is in the category of prose/poetry, i suppose which isn't accessible or liked by everyone ... but i'm really glad to hear this theme and style speak to you ... ty, BMB, for your visit and your generous note! -dh

I really like this - admiration for the words that you have chosen and for the pictures of all that can be done... prophetic - profound!

All your poems are very thought provoking, and this one is no different! I absolutely love this piece. I have often pondered myself, why it is we as a people give more attention to the less fortunate during the holidays and less throughout the rest of the year it seems.

i'm glad it's not just me, lol ... i try not to be a grinch ... let it ride while the feeling is there ... but it's such an explosion ... overwhelming ... ty so much for the thoughtful note ... much luv! -dh

I read it 3 times. There is so much in it. For me it sounds like Evolution or Natural history described by the witness and participant

this one is a little rambling, i'm afraid ... i'm glad you find something in it! i started with that thought, the title, and this is simply where it took me ... and then instead of leaving it in the journal, i posted without much editing ... ty for reading ... and i hadn't thought of it quite that way, as "Evolution," but really ... it is about the evolution of the human species ... how what we can do now is different, perhaps, than what we could have done a million years ago ... but that in those possibilities there are many distractions ... thx for your thoughtful note! -dh

DH, I like your first person expository style that causes your audience to listen intensely and question what they have done lately. ginga

right on! ty for the articulate and information-filled note and your always-thoughtful reads, beautiful ginga! -dh

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
