    Poem Commentary

    A car accident took my sister and my 5-year-old nephew.

    JASON

     Darling little boy
                with a deep voice,
                          talking, always talking;
    lower lip sticking out
                in a natural pout
                          so endearing;
    now protects his mother
                from the darkness
                          they are trapped in
    with the courage
                born in little boys,
                         darling little boys,
    whose destiny it is
                to die too soon.

    There is nothing more tragic than a young life cut short. I am so very sorry for your loss, I don't know what I'd do if it were my sister and her child. My prayers are with you.

    thank you. I don't intend to write short poems, they just come out that way sometimes. Lol

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
