Jeannie's Pain
Last night my little girl was crying
She'd been hurt by a boy she liked
It broke my heart to hear her say that she was
"Hurt because the relationship ended before it
had the chance to blossom into something beautiful".
Those were her exact words
keep in mind, she's only fourteen
Yes, girls definitely mature faster than boys
When a young girls heart is broken
They're almost inconsolable
There is almost nothing you can do
To make her see the light again
I sat there talking to her, listening to her pain
And it broke my heart even more
That I didn't know what to say
I told her I thought he was a jerk
For one thing, he never told her he still had
Another girlfriend
And for him to do that to her
Made him not just a jerk, but their leader
For if he couldn't see what a wonderful girl
He had while he was with my Jeannie
Then to Hell with him, he doesn't deserve her
I'll never understand how a boy
Could do something like that to a wonderful young girl
Sneaking behind her back
Knowing that what he's doing will hurt her
Unfortunately, it's part of growing up
Some people are nice and honest
Others do nothing but lie
But I know Jeannie will find someone
i know she'll find a nice guy
Someone who'll be kind to her
And treat her like a lady
Someone who'll hold her and tell her she's pretty
She already has so much passion in her soul
And every day, everything good about her
Does nothing but grow.
