Jumper

From day one it was all unfamiliar
Thrust upon one another unwillingly
Gasping for air for it may be my last breath
Almost two years later and nothings changed

Tossed into what would have later turn into my demise
One mistake apparently drowns the good graces of evil
Claimed with one name and one name only
The name in which no longer can ever be recovered from

Treated like all hope is lost
Like I can no longer regain any positivity
A natural born fuck up if you will
The black sheep

Feeling like I should no longer try
Not trying gets me nowhere
Trying isn't enough
I won't apologize for being human

Maybe I'm just broken
Not meant to be fixed
But here is definitely not the place
Here is definitely not the time

Wrong place, wrong time
Wrong people, wrong life
Wrong heart, wrong decision
It's useless....

You gave up on me
No matter what your mouth says
Actions speak louder than words
You've jumped me from one spot to another

I thought it was supposed to be hime
At least that's what you claim
But you disowned me three times
And in time I was forced to come back

Now I'm nothing but a step-child
Still clueless on pretty much everything
Never really had much of a chance to begin with
I might as well have jumped again

Did a good thing but ended up twisted
Got me in trouble and no one had my back
Now we're still stuck with one another
Partial reason for still being here

If I was able to jump again
I'm pretty sure I'd be better off
Even though I'm sure you'd still be the way you are
There's just no escaping you

There's no escaping me
There's no escaping this heart God cursed me with
Way too big for this little minded collection
No acceptions

There's no escaping the reality of my mentality
There's no escaping the truth in mind over matter
Way too disfunctional for this perfect circle
No more attempts

I screwed up my chance of getting out earlier
Definitely unintentional but nothing I can do
I'm stuck here in despair
And unable to cure this progessive itch

I'm that one person
The outcast
The unwanted
I am the jumper

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
