Kaleidescope

Kaleidescope

Colors melted away
like thin paint off a canvas
in the morning sun.
Passion spent,
illusion gone,
my lover now
is a shadow.
Empty, confused,
I turn away
can't bear to touch him.
I'm sorry,
you must go.
As he gets dressed,
my anger flows.
Why are they
so strong,
so desirable
the night before,
then so gray
in the glare of day?
Gone in a whisper
of I'll call you,
lost in a rush
of repulsion,
the door clicks softly
after what last night
was my desire.
Another shadow
leaves me
silently screaming
in a kaleidescope
of melted colors.

Your soul is so beautiful...I hope you've found somebody to appreciate you since writing these....nice work

Is that the feeling you get from my work -- that my soul is beautiful? Wow, I don't know what to say...I consider my poems to be very personal, but you seem to have tapped into something deeper than that. I truly don't know what to say....

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
