Poem Commentary

This poem is about wnting revenge when there is nothing left to say and not enough words to convey all the emotions.

Karmma

I remember the night I realized I loved you

I knew it wasn’t good

I knew it was useless

You were taking advantage

You turned me into a liar

You had me wrapped around your finger

I didn’t listen to anyone but you

You made me feel that with you

I could only be myself

And the worst part is that I knew

You were only being selfish

No matter what people say

Or how many times the point the blame your way

I can’t honestly say I didn’t play my part

You just had the upper hand:

Years of experience

And you held my heart

I wanted to curl up next to you

Put my head against your chest

And listen to your heart beat

I longed to feel you next to me

You made me think

You put me before anyone else

I wouldn’t see

It was everyone except yourself

It’s a shame good people are brought down by you

You deserve karma for not telling the truth

You probably feel safe because you won

This battle

But I won’t lose this overall fight

My heart is mine
