Kindred Spirits
My emotions are timber,so try to remember,
i'm spread a little thinner than you.
If she was your friend you'd feel it too.
I'm afraid she's dying,
I shouldn't be crying,
but all the same,
it is a shame
only cancer to blame.
Her whole life she held it all in,
I have never ever seen her sin.
A mother and nurturer extrordinaire!
Cancer don't take her don't dare.
She had a life full of strife,
and is my friend for life,
Someone who has always been there
someone who always would care.
I'm too far away,
should i come? i say
she says not now, no way
but i know, there'll come a day.
I am just afraid
the ferryman's paid.
So I pray
To get my way.
But I know the Lord
was never bored.
There is a grand design
I will tow the line.
I will accept his way
and maybe one day
I will be able to say
I know why it's this way.
What can I say?
